My desire to adopt

Since my childhood, I had a desire to adopt a baby after my marriage. A child being born to me will always be loved but sharing your love to someone being brought into the family and raised as my own is what I always wished for. I don't have a reason when someone asks me why, it could be humanity but am not sure, it is something that has been going on in my mind and I have decided I would do it.
Also what comes into my mind is, why not each family, sponsor for the education of an orphan and give him a new life. May be not the low class families which have trouble paying for the education of their own kids but how about the rest of them. If every family could do this, how easy would it be to reduce the illiteracy and poverty in the world.
I always had the wish to raise this kid as my replica. I wanted to make him a better me. Give him all the things that I yearned for during my childhood, education which interests him, opportunity to learn new things which interest him. I never thought how I would raise my biological kid but I always planned this kid to be completely mine. I am so excited on this and I would surely see to make it happen.

Fight for Telanga

There is this state in India which is called Andhra Pradesh. I am from there. Not until lately have I known that Andhra Pradesh is compromised of three regions; Telangana, Andhra and Rayalsima. These three regions  have joined together in the year 1956 and formed the state of Andhra Pradesh. Telangana region has the major city Hyderabad and except for that it does not have anything. There are no fertile lands, there are no major water bodies and is also the most backward province in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra and Rayalsima have all these things except for the hi-tech city, Hyderabad.
Some leaders in Telangana have been fighting for being left as a separate state (separated from Andhra and Rayalsima) since the people of Telangana are not treated with respect. According to them, they have been losing their jobs to the people from Andhra and they have been losing the funds from center to the non-telangana regions. One more reason that annoys them is the entire state is named after Andhra, no mention of Telangana. The main problem that raised is that the fight for this separate state is not started by good leaders. The leaders who are fighting for separate telangana are more interested in their personal interests than the interests of the public. Due to this, the fight for separate Telangana has been seen only as a motive as a group of evil leaders.
The forming of a separate Telangana is opposed mainly by the people of Andhra. One of the main reasons for this is the investments the Andhra people have put up in Hyderabad; various businesses, lands, buildings etc. The leaders of Telangana say that they are going to let all the non-telangana people leave Telangana once the state is formed. All this led to fear among them and they have been strongly revolting the formation of separate Telangana.
Advantage to other states: Andhra Pradesh has been a strong competition to some states like Karnataka (the once software capital Bangalore has been strongly overtaken by Cyberabad (popularly known as Hyderabad)) and Tamil Nadu (Andhra pradesh has more land and more intellectual people). Once Telangana is separated from Andhra Pradesh, neither would Telangana or Andhra Pradesh be any more competitor to Karnataka or Tamil Nadu. So some cruel politicians from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu do want Andhra Pradesh to split.
All in all, my word would be to have a formal discussion between the people from the three regions of Andhra Pradesh and come up with a decision to be united. Division of states would not really help anyone. Evident is the case of Germany which split up into two different countries and later came together owing to the major fall of economy when divided. There are more people in Andhra Pradesh who want to be united, they should all stand up together and get rid of the few corrupt leader and their followers who are trying to get the state separated for their personal gains

Chetan Bhagat's novels

For all the people who don't know about Chetan Bhagat; he is an Indian author and has four best selling novels until this today. All his books are made into bollywood movies.
I was never into reading novels until one day I got this book "Five point someone" from one of my friends. The book was already famous by that time and I still did not read it. So after I got it, I started reading, only to avoid telling people, I did not read that book yet. Right from page number 1, the book was interesting. The main character of the book is the story narrator and the story is about his college experience. IIT is one of India's most reputed engineering school and he gets admitted for the undergraduate degree. He describes his friends, his girlfriend and his trouble getting the degree. Until the last page, the book kept me grasped. After five point someone, I felt the fun in reading books and then I went on to read novels by many other authors.
After an year or so I again lost interest in books and went back to my favorite pass time "watching movies". And soon, another book came out by Chetan Bhagat and it was called "One night at the call center". As soon as I heard about this book, I told my dad in India to get me a copy. He did by paying double the price since it was out of stock wherever it was sold. He sent it to my through one of my friends. I read it within 2 days. It started slow and after roughly 50 pages the book started getting interesting. It was filled with subtle humor as the first one. One thing that seperates Chetan's books from others is that his readers keep laughing while reading his books. He maintains that quality of fun and joy in his stories. "One night at the call center" may not be as good as "Five point someone" but it is a good book.
"Three mistakes of my life, the third book by Chetan Bhagat. I was talking to my friend on phone and he told me that he was reading this book. I asked who the author was and when he replied me I was surprised to know when this book came out. I told him to complete reading the book soon and send it to me. He gave the book soon to my dad who sent it to me through another of my friend who came to United States. "Three mistakes..." was a bore to start. It started very slow and took a lot of time to interest the reader. I took more than a week to complete this book. Only the last fifty odd pages were interesting. The book was about three most talked about things in India; Cricket, religious politics and unaccepted love. I felt Chetan has lost his miraculous touch where he could keep his reader in his magical spell and captivate him until the end of the book.
I have this habbit of collecting the electronic versions of all good novels and browse a number of websites, forums to update my collection. Last week I saw this post "Chetan Bhagat's new book 2 state". I was aghast ". When did this guy release another book? I went into his personal website and read the synopsis. Even though I was not impressed by his latest offering "Three mistakes of my life", I got "2 state" immediately and began reading it. He cracked the jack pot this time. Chetan was good with this one. This is about his life at IIM Ahmedabad. IIM is India's famous Business school. He describes his love towards a South Indian girl and how he gets married to her. Entire book was fun. I was all laughs again, forgot the rest of the world while reading and completed this big book within 2 days. I became a true aficionado of Chetan with this book. My advice to people who are not into reading novels is to read "Five point someone" and "2 state" as they are not novels but books filled with infinite humor

My encounter with cops in the United States

Are they really to help the public? This is the question that rises in my mind immediately when I see a cop. I feel a cop in the United states is only there to exhibit his authority. If he is really there to help people out why is it that no one feels comfortable to talk to him. Its always scary to encounter a cop. Puts his car on the way, glows his irritatingly bright lights even in the darkest hour of the night, puts them on for a long 30 minutes even when he has to talk to the so called culprit for just a few minutes.
One day, I was standing in the MV office in a long queue. There was only one guy working though there were five counters. This cop guy walks in, looks around, I hope that he's going to help the confused people in the room, instead he takes out his phone, starts having a nice chat, probably with his girlfriend describing how lousily he's having fun in his job. Why doesn't he go out and put a call to the other guys in the counters who have gone for lunch more than 2 hours ago.
There were times when I was stopped on the road by a cop. The first one was when I was talking on a phone while driving, that was the only time I forgot my blue-tooth at my home. I was also late to office so I called up my company to inform them that I am going to be late. This guy comes behind me, glows his lights and stops me. He won't listen to even one of my words. Gives me a ticket and says have a good day. How dumb of him! how would I have a good day? The second guy catches me when I was speeding. I agree that its' a mistake. He asks me what I do and when I say him I am a Solar research engineer he says he doesn't have any idea what is Solar. Oh common dude, which world are you living in. Who in this present day be a guy who doesn't know what solar means. I guess there was a competition that was held to elect the dumbest of the people in the United states and the guys who came first were selected to be cops.

Floods in South India and the Government's attitude

Last month there have been severe floods in the southern part of India mainly in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Many people have been killed, some lost their homes. The losses were huge. The government did say that they were going to support the people. Everyday in the news it is said that either the Chief minister or the Prime minister is going on a survey to the flood hit areas. What they do is they are going to fly in a copter and have an aerial view of the flood hit area. Does it really help? how would someone know the suffering of a person in a place where the so called public servant is not even putting his footstep over there. The officials enjoyed their air trip and gave their routine speech saying they would allot so many thousands of crores of rupees to the affected. I bet a major fraction of this money goes into the pockets of the officials in steps. Let me try putting this in more clear words. The head of the country say the Prime minister gave 10000 units of money to the state government. The money would travel through the pockets of so many ministers until it goes to the state government and becomes around 8000. This 8000 would go the head of the state then to the finance officials of the state and it would automatically become 6000. This 6000 might go to the people but am not sure.
One more interesting thing that the government did is they asked the people to donate money. One question that raised in my mind is what are they going to do with the money. obviously giving money to the people over there would be a dumbest thing to do because what would they do with money. They cannot go shopping! So I guess the government would buy some clothes, utensils and provide them. If this is the case, why isn't the government asking the people to provide clothes, utensils etc. This could directly go to the flood affected. It would save much time too. Why are they asking us money for donation. I don't want my money to go into the pockets of any minister. I really want to help the people. I would donate whatever other than money.

Governer post in New Jersey

Oh its Governer's elections in NJ today. Well, I expected Christie to win this time because its the democratic in the white house so its got to be Republic in NJ. Anyhow, all the foreigners would vote for Corzine and expect him to become the Governer again. But truly speaking Corzine's rule was a bit tough on people. They lost jobs, the taxes were high, tolls were increased but well he had a reason to do it. But its always been like that, NJ was a costly state to live in. People need a different rule so I guess most of the votes might have gone to the Republican. My fingers are crossed right now as are those of the Nj residents. Lets see what has to come.

My writing samples

As I said in my earlier posts, I love writing. I write poems in blank verse and also some essays. Most of my poems are real life experiences and they deal with a person's feelings and the thoughts that go in his mind when he experiences something unusual. My essays are about things that happen to me. Simple descriptions which are easy and enjoyable to read. As time goes I would post some of my poems and essays for you people to read on.

Bad economy! Who cares and who does not

Everyone talks about the bad economy. Even if they are affected by it or not. Why? Well, I don't have any problem if people who lost their jobs because of it, people who are unable to get employed or those who aren't getting a rise or getting promoted are talking about it but what about the higher percentage of people who are happy in their jobs getting every pay check without any problem. When you see them talking its as if they are really concerned about whats happening. I say, people just want something to talk about. They are excited to see people losing jobs, the stocks losing their values with time and the government getting cursed every time because they are getting stuff to talk about. Why do they are?

James Bond movies

From childhood, I have been hearing about James Bond movies. I never saw them though. The first one I saw was this Quantum Of Solace. Believe me, I did not understand even one scene of the entire movie. Well one benefit of doubt that you could give me is that this movie is actually a sequel to Casino Royale. Once you haven't watched the earlier one, you wouldn't get anything out of this one.

So recently I have got this rapidshare premium account and I started downloading all the stuff that I see which has rapidshare links. I try to make use of every penny I spent to buy the premium account. So on one of the websites I found this Bond movies collection. I downloaded all of them. One more thing that pushed me into downloading them was this Blu ray print of each movie. Well, Some of the links did not work so I searched for those movies on google and downloaded them too. I have all the 22 Bond movies now.

I am a Pierce Brosnan fan. So I watched all of his Bond movies and then I started watching one by one starting from the first Bond movie Dr No. Well, I must say, though Dr No is the movie which came in 1962, all throughout the movie I never felt I was watching a 47 year old movie. I was at the edge of my seat all the time when I was watching. Bond movies really keep you interested.

Let's start today
